5+ Best Product Review Apps for Shopify to Boost Trust (2026)

Best Product Review Apps for Shopify

Your ads are running, your product pages look clean, and traffic keeps coming. Then a visitor scrolls to the bottom of a product page, finds a description and nothing else, and opens another tab to see what other people say about you. Many of them don’t come back. A good product reviews app closes that gap, because it puts real customer reviews on the page before the visitor goes looking for them.

Shopify doesn’t include a full review system, so every store ends up choosing from dozens of apps. The choice is harder than it looks. Some apps price by order volume, free plans cap different things, and a few apps that used to be cheap now start much higher. To keep this guide useful, we compared seven popular apps using their current Shopify App Store listings. Prices, plan limits, and ratings below are as listed on October 27, 2026. They change often, so confirm the numbers on the listing before you pay.

The seven apps are listed below. For each one you will see what it does well, where it falls short, what it costs, and which kind of store it suits. If you are still building your store, our Shopify store setup guide shows where reviews fit, and the list of essential Shopify apps covers what else belongs in your stack. You can find more guides like this in the WebContrive newsroom.

Quick answer: which Shopify review app should you pick?

If you only have a minute, this is how the seven break down:

  • Rivyo: reviews, Q&A, and review imports on a free-to-start plan, with loyalty and referrals as paid add-ons.
  • Judge.me: the lowest running cost, with unlimited reviews on the free plan and one flat paid plan at $15 a month.
  • Loox: photo and video reviews, AI sorting and referrals, best for brands where customer photos sell the product.
  • REVIEWS.io: product and company reviews with Google Seller Ratings.
  • Stamped: reviews and loyalty from one vendor, with no free plan.
  • Yotpo: large catalogs and high order volume.
  • Okendo: a customer marketing suite with reviews, loyalty, referrals, quizzes, and surveys.

The best reviews app for Shopify depends on your order volume, your budget, and how many other tools you want from the same vendor. The sections below explain each pick.

Why product reviews matter on a Shopify store

Nobody can pick up your product online. A review is the closest thing a shopper gets to asking the person standing next to them in a physical shop. That is why a store with no reviews feels risky, even when the product is good.

The numbers back this up. Research from Northwestern University’s Medill Spiegel Research Center found that the purchase likelihood for a product with five reviews is 270% greater than for a product with none. The same research notes that the benefit of each extra review drops quickly after the first five. For a small store, that is good news. You don’t need thousands of reviews to see an effect. You need the first few on every product page.

Reviews build trust before the first purchase

A first-time buyer has no history with your brand. A customer review from someone who already bought answers the question every new visitor has: will this arrive, and will it look like the photos? Photo reviews work even better, because they show the product in a real kitchen, on a real person, in ordinary light.

Reviews help conversion

Reviews answer objections at the moment someone hesitates. Fit, size, scent, battery life, how long delivery took. A shopper who finds the answer on the page doesn’t need to leave and search for it. This matters most during a sale, because traffic from a Black Friday campaign tends to be new visitors who don’t know your brand yet, and reviews are the first thing they check.

Reviews add content that search engines can read

Every review adds the words real customers use to describe your product. With the right markup, star ratings can also appear in search results. Google’s review snippet documentation explains how ratings and review markups work, and most apps in this list add it for you. If you are working on your store’s search visibility more broadly, start with our Shopify SEO checklist and the guide to improving Shopify SEO.

Reviews show you what to fix

Three reviews that mention the same sizing problem tell you more than a survey does. Negative reviews point to product, packaging, or shipping issues you can fix, and they make the positive ones more believable.

What to check before you choose a reviews app for Shopify

Most merchants compare the star rating on the App Store and the monthly price. Those two numbers hide the differences that cost you later. Check these first.

  • How the plan is priced: Judge.me lists one paid plan at a flat $15 a month. Loox, Stamped, Okendo, and Yotpo price by monthly orders, so the bill climbs as you grow. Rivyo tiers by how many orders it collects reviews from (100, 500, 1,000, or unlimited).
  • What the free plan includes: “Free” can mean unlimited reviews with a smaller feature set (Judge.me), or fuller features with a low order cap (Okendo and Yotpo stop at 50 orders a month). The REVIEWS.io free plan allows 25 review invites a month.
  • How reviews get collected: Email is standard. Look for reminders, SMS, QR codes on packaging, review forms, and a way to email past customers.
  • Photo and video reviews, and which plan has them: On several apps, video is a paid feature.
  • Import and migration: If you already have reviews in another app or on a marketplace, check how easily they move in.
  • Google features: Rich snippets (stars in regular search results) and Google Seller Ratings (stars on Shopping ads and listings) are different features, and they often sit on different plans.
  • Widgets and page speed: Every app adds scripts to your theme. Open the demo store on a phone, and read our Shopify speed optimization guide before you add anything heavy.
  • Support: Support comes up in nearly every merchant summary on these listings, so read the most recent reviews and not only the score.
  • Add-ons: Loyalty and referral features are separate charges on some apps, which changes the real monthly cost.

The 7 best product review apps for Shopify

1. Rivyo: reviews, Q&A and imports with optional loyalty

Rivyo is a Shopify product reviews app rated 4.9 from 941 reviews. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and has been on the App Store since June 2018. It collects text, photo, and video reviews, store reviews, and product Q&A, and it adds loyalty and referral programs if you want them later.

What makes it practical for a new store is the free plan. It includes unlimited product reviews, automated review requests, review replies, Google rich snippets, unlimited CSV imports, and 100 imports from Amazon, AliExpress, or Etsy. If you already have reviews somewhere else, the listing says Rivyo can import from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Okendo, and several marketplaces, so switching doesn’t mean starting from zero. It works with page builders such as GemPages and PageFly, with Klaviyo, and with subscription apps including Recharge, Appstle, and Utterbond.

Key features

  • Text, photo, and video reviews with automated post-purchase emails

  • Review widget, carousel, testimonials, and store reviews

  • Product Q&A

  • Google rich snippets on every plan, and Google Shopping integration on the Business plan

  • QR code review collection and coupon rewards for reviews on the Business plan

  • Imports from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Okendo, Amazon, AliExpress, and Etsy

  • Reviews at checkout for Shopify Plus stores on the Enterprise plan

Pricing

  • Free: unlimited product reviews, collecting from 100 orders a month

  • Starter, $9/month: 500 orders, unlimited photo reviews and Q&A, store reviews, automatic reminder emails, review booster campaigns, 7-day free trial

  • Business, $14/month: 1,000 orders, review rewards, product grouping, Google Shopping integration, advanced moderation, QR codes

  • Enterprise, $19/month: unlimited orders and emails, unlimited video reviews, AI Review Autopilot, headless and API support, priority support

  • Add-ons on any plan: loyalty program at $29/month, referral rewards at $19/month

  • Annual billing saves 20%

Where it falls short: Video reviews sit on the top plan only. Loyalty and referrals cost extra, so Enterprise with both add-ons comes to $67 a month. The listing shows English as the only language.

Best for: new Shopify stores that want to start free, brands switching from another review app, dropshipping stores importing marketplace reviews, and stores that expect to add loyalty later.

2. Judge.me: unlimited reviews at a flat price

Judge.me is rated 5.0 from more than 49,000 reviews, the largest base of the seven by a wide margin. It has the Built for Shopify badge, won a Shopify Build Award in 2025, and has been on the App Store since 2015. Merchants stay for the price. The free plan has no cap on product reviews, store reviews, or photo and video reviews, and the one paid plan costs $15 a month no matter how many orders you get. That makes it a strong free Shopify review app and an easy one to keep as you grow.

The free plan includes the review widget and star badge, carousels, Google reviews sync and rich snippets, trust badges, sync with the Shop app, Etsy and Amazon, and a review importer with AliExpress sync. The $15 Awesome plan adds the tools that raise review volume: automatic reminders, coupons and referrals, Q&A, and 16 widgets. It also adds AI replies, summaries and translations, Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok Shop sync, and CSS and email design control. The listing counts more than 130 integrations, including Klaviyo and Gorgias, and a 15-day free trial.

Key features

  • Unlimited product reviews, store reviews and visual reviews

  • Email, SMS and push review requests

  • Google reviews sync, rich snippets and Google Shopping

  • Syndication to Meta, TikTok Shop and the Shop app

  • Imports from Yotpo, Loox, Amazon, Etsy and other platforms

  • Widgets, carousels and testimonial sliders

Pricing

  • Free: unlimited reviews, widgets, carousels, Google rich snippets, importer

  • Awesome, $15/month: AI tools, 130+ integrations, Q&A and review page widgets, automatic reminders, coupons and referrals, Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok Shop sync, custom CSS

Where it falls short: The free plan leaves out automatic reminders, coupons, and Q&A, which are the features that lift review volume, and most design control is on the paid plan.

Best for: stores of any size that watch cost, high-order-volume stores where per-order pricing hurts, and anyone who wants a free Shopify product reviews app without a review cap.

3. Loox: photo and video reviews with AI sorting

Loox is rated 4.9 from 9,980 reviews, carries the Built for Shopify badge, and has been listed since 2015. The listing says 100,000 ecommerce businesses use it. It is built around visual reviews. It collects photos and video through emails, QR codes, and discounts, then shows them in widgets designed to load quickly on mobile.

Older comparisons describe Loox as paid only, but that has changed. The listing now shows a free plan for up to 500 orders, with review request emails and reminders, discounts for photo reviews, 17 or more widgets, Google rich snippets and schema, social posts built from reviews, and Shop app syndication. The Convert plan at $49.99 a month adds video reviews, AI smart sorting, highlights, summaries and review stories, AI translations and replies, reviews on product bundles, referrals, syndication to Google, Meta and TikTok, and API access. The Unlimited plan costs $299.99 a month.

Key features

  • Photo and video review collection by email, QR code, and discount

  • 17+ widgets, including carousels and snippets

  • AI sorting, highlights, and summaries on paid plans

  • Referrals, post-purchase and on-site, on paid plans

  • Syndication to the Shop app, Google, Meta and TikTok

  • Loox Studio for turning reviews into social posts

Pricing

  • Free: up to 500 orders, review emails, photo review discounts, 17+ widgets, Google rich snippets

  • Convert, $49.99/month: 300 orders included, then $50 for each additional 300, plus AI, video reviews, referrals and integrations, 14-day trial

  • Unlimited, $299.99/month: all features and priority support

Where it falls short: The jump from free to the first paid plan is the largest of the seven apps. Pricing follows order volume, so work out your own monthly order count against the 300-order step before you upgrade. Video reviews and the AI features are paid only, and the listing shows English as its language.

Best for: fashion, beauty, home and lifestyle brands where a customer photo does most of the selling.

4. REVIEWS.io: product reviews and company reviews with Google ratings

REVIEWS.io is rated 4.7 from 771 reviews and has been on Shopify since 2014. It is part of the Clearer.io suite. It collects product reviews, plus photo and video content, by email and SMS, and it puts weight on Google: Google Seller Ratings and rich snippets start on the $19 Launch plan. Merchants on the listing praise its support team, including help moving reviews over from other platforms.

The free plan covers 25 review invites a month, product and company reviews, automated requests, basic widgets, a Klaviyo integration, a customizable collector page, photo and video collection, and Shop app syndication. The Launch plan raises that to 50 invites and adds Review Booster (email past customers), Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, a UGC manager and automated follow-ups. Launch Plus adds surveys including post-purchase and NPS, attributes, product grouping, an AI review summary, and expert answers (Q&A). The listing also notes that REVIEWS.io may bill charges separately from your Shopify invoice.

Key features

  • Product and company (store) reviews in one system

  • Google Seller Ratings and rich snippets

  • Email and SMS requests, with Klaviyo and Shopify Flow connections

  • Review Booster for emailing past customers

  • Surveys and NPS on the top plan

  • Syndication to TikTok Shop and the Shop app

Pricing

  • Free: 25 invites a month, product and company reviews, basic widgets

  • Launch, $19/month: 50 invites, Review Booster, Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, UGC manager, 14-day trial

  • Launch Plus, $45/month: 500 invites, attributes, product grouping, surveys, AI review summary, Q&A, multiple users

Where it falls short: Invite limits are low on the lower plans, and Q&A, attributes, and product grouping all wait until the $45 tier. The listing shows English only.

Best for: brands that want company reviews next to product reviews, stores that care about Google Seller Ratings, and merchants who value hands-on support.

5. Stamped: reviews and loyalty from one vendor

Stamped is rated 4.7 from 3,752 reviews and has been on Shopify since 2016. It combines reviews with a loyalty and rewards program, so one vendor covers both. It collects photo and video reviews, supports Q&A, and connects to Google Shopping and rich snippets. The loyalty side includes points, rewards, VIP tiers, and referrals. It is also the only app of the seven with no free plan.

The review plans scale by monthly orders. Every plan includes in-email review collection, customizable on-site widgets, Google and Klaviyo integrations, and photo and video collection. Loyalty is a separate product with its own price.

Key features

  • Photo, video, and text reviews, with Q&A

  • Customizable on-site widgets

  • Google Shopping and rich snippets

  • Email and SMS campaigns for reviews and loyalty

  • Loyalty with points, VIP tiers, discounts and referrals

  • Performance analytics

Pricing

  • Reviews, $23/month: up to 200 orders a month

  • Reviews, $99/month: up to 1,000 orders a month

  • Reviews, $199/month: up to 5,000 orders a month

  • Loyalty, $299/month: up to 5,000 orders a month, billed separately

Where it falls short: There is no free plan, the steps between tiers are large (from $23 to $99 once you pass 200 orders), and loyalty is a separate $299 charge.

Best for: established stores that want reviews and loyalty under one roof and have the budget for it. A store that is just starting should try a free plan first.

6. Yotpo: reviews for larger catalogs and higher order volume

Yotpo is rated 4.8 from 4,632 reviews and has been on Shopify since 2011, the oldest listing of the seven. It is built for bigger catalogs. It collects text, photo, and video reviews via email, displays them with carousels, AI summaries, and smart filters, and syncs reviews to other channels, including TikTok and Walmart. It also connects to Yotpo Loyalty if you want rewards later.

The free plan covers up to 50 monthly orders, with automatic review requests, an email template library, sentiment and profanity checks, on-site display, and AI chat support. The Starter plan adds photo and video collection, Google rich snippets, Google Shopping ads, and a review carousel. Pro adds Google Seller Rating, custom questions, an AI review summary, and smart sorting.

Key features

  • Automatic review requests with a template library

  • Photo and video reviews on paid plans

  • Google rich snippets, Google Shopping ads and Google Seller Rating

  • AI review summaries and smart sorting on Pro

  • Review syncing to and from other platforms

  • Sentiment and profanity checks before reviews go live

Pricing

  • Free: up to 50 orders a month

  • Starter, from $15/month: price changes with order volume

  • Pro, from $119/month: price changes with order volume

Where it falls short: Both paid plans say the price changes with order volume, so the numbers above are starting points and you should ask for a quote at your own volume. One merchant on the listing also says the Verified Buyer badge on imported reviews now needs a higher plan, so ask Yotpo which plan covers the features you rely on.

Best for: large catalogs, high-volume stores, and brands that want reviews tied into a wider marketing platform and are comfortable with quote-based pricing.

7. Okendo: reviews inside a wider customer marketing suite

Okendo is rated 4.8 from 1,443 reviews and has been on Shopify since June 2018. It describes itself as a customer marketing platform with five connected apps: reviews, loyalty, surveys, quizzes, and referrals. Merchant feedback on the listing points to attribute-based reviews, strong photo and video content, and fast support.

The free plan covers up to 50 orders a month and includes automated review request emails, a smart review form, a review rewards engine, review displays, Google SEO snippets, review grouping, and moderation. Essential, at $19 a month, raises the cap to 200 orders. Growth, at $119 a month, covers 1,500 orders and adds AI review summaries, AI review keywords, TikTok Shop integration, and a Q&A widget. Power, at $299 a month, covers 3,500 orders and adds review campaigns, an advanced CSS editor, email and SMS integrations, advanced reporting, and managed onboarding. Paid plans come with a 14-day trial, and the listing counts more than 50 integrations, including Klaviyo, Gorgias, and Postscript.

Key features

  • Smart review form and automated review requests

  • Review rewards engine for incentives

  • Review grouping and moderation

  • AI summaries and keywords on Growth and above

  • Loyalty, referrals, quizzes and surveys from the same vendor

  • Works with Shopify checkout, customer accounts, and POS

Pricing

  • Free: up to 50 orders a month

  • Essential, $19/month: up to 200 orders

  • Growth, $119/month: up to 1,500 orders, AI tools, Q&A widget

  • Power, $299/month: up to 3,500 orders, campaigns, advanced reporting, managed onboarding

Where it falls short: The step from $19 to $119 is steep, and the Q&A widget and AI summaries only start at the $119 tier. The listing shows English only.

Best for: growing direct-to-consumer brands that want reviews, loyalty, referrals, and quizzes on one platform and expect to pay for scale.

Free Shopify product reviews apps: what you actually get

Most stores should start with a free Shopify review app, then upgrade when a limit becomes a real problem. The free plans are not equal, though. Some cap the number of reviews, some cap the number of orders, and one app has no free plan at all.

App What the Free Plan Includes Cap
Rivyo Unlimited product reviews, automated requests, review replies, Google rich snippets, CSV import No review cap
Judge.me Unlimited product, store and photo/video reviews, widget, carousels, Google rich snippets, importer No review cap
Loox Review emails and reminders, photo review discounts, 17+ widgets, Google rich snippets Up to 500 orders
Okendo Request emails, smart review form, rewards engine, displays, Google SEO snippets, moderation 50 orders a month
Yotpo Automatic requests, email templates, sentiment checks, on-site display 50 orders a month
REVIEWS.io Product and company reviews, automated requests, photo and video, basic widgets 25 invites a month
Stamped No free plan Not applicable

The cap that matters is the one that matches your real order volume. A store with orders a month sits comfortably inside the Rivyo free plan and well inside Loox, but it would already pass the Yotpo and Okendo free limits. At 200 orders a month, only Judge.me and Loox stay free.

One practical tip. Install one app at a time, and try it on a duplicate of your live theme before you publish. Review apps add code to your theme, and leftovers from a removed app can slow pages or clash with the next one.

How to import reviews to Shopify from another app or marketplace

Switching apps shouldn’t reset your review count to zero, and a new store shouldn’t launch with empty product pages. In both cases, the answer is to import reviews to Shopify. Our guide walks through the Amazon route step by step. Which apps make this easy depends on the listing:

  • Rivyo lists imports from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Okendo, Amazon, AliExpress, and Etsy.

  • Judge.me lists imports from Yotpo, Loox, Amazon, Etsy and other platforms, plus AliExpress sync.

  • Loox advertises migration from other review apps.

  • Okendo and Yotpo list import, export, and migration among their collection tools.

  • REVIEWS.io support has handled CSV migrations for merchants, including one on the listing that moved 398 reviews.

A clean migration follows the same order each time:

  1. Export your current reviews as a CSV file before you cancel anything.

  2. Check that the product handles or IDs in the file match your live store. Matching reviews to the right products is where imports tend to get stuck.

  3. Import a small batch first and check how it looks on the product pages.

  4. Import the rest, and keep the old app installed until the review counts match.

  5. Remove the old app and its leftover code from your theme, then confirm star ratings still show on collection pages.

A word of caution on marketplace reviews. If you bring in reviews from Amazon or AliExpress, label them clearly as imported, check the marketplace terms, and only use them for the same product you sell. Google’s review snippet guidelines tell sites not to include fake or undisclosed incentivized reviews in page content or markup, and shoppers can tell when a page looks padded.

Which review app fits your store?

  • New store with few orders: start with Judge.me or the Rivyo free plan. Aim for the first five reviews on each product, since that is where research shows the biggest lift.

  • Growing store with 200 to 1,000 orders a month: Judge.me’s flat price and the Rivyo Starter or Business plans keep costs predictable. Add Loox if photos matter, and the budget allows.

  • Large store with thousands of orders: compare Yotpo, Okendo and Stamped, ask each for a quote at your volume, and check Judge.me’s flat price against them.

  • Dropshipping store: Rivyo and Judge.me both list marketplace imports.

  • Brand that wants loyalty as well: Stamped, Okendo and Yotpo offer it through the same vendor, and Rivyo adds it as a paid add-on.

  • Fashion, beauty and other photo-led products: Loox is built around visual reviews.

  • Google Seller Ratings and company reviews: REVIEWS.io centers on both, Yotpo Pro lists Google Seller Rating, and Rivyo Business and Judge.me’s paid plan list Google Shopping.

How to get more customer reviews after you install an app

Installing the app only gives you somewhere to put reviews. Volume comes from how you ask. These steps apply to every app above when you collect product reviews on Shopify.

  1. Send the request after delivery, not after checkout: A customer can’t review a product they haven’t opened. Judge.me’s listing mentions requests triggered after fulfillment or delivery, and most apps let you set the delay.

  2. Send one reminder: One follow-up lifts response without annoying people. Five will get you unsubscribes.

  3. Keep the form short: Stars and a sentence first, photo optional. A long form costs you reviews.

  4. Reward photo reviews, and say so: Loox, Rivyo Business, Judge.me’s paid plan, and the Okendo rewards engine all support coupon incentives. Disclose the incentive, and offer it for any honest review, not only positive ones.

  5. Email past customers once: Review Booster on REVIEWS.io and review booster campaigns on Rivyo Starter exist for this. It is the fastest way to fill empty product pages.

  6. Put a QR code card in the box: Rivyo Business and Judge.me list QR code collection, and it reaches customers who ignore email.

  7. Reply to every review: A short, specific reply to a bad review shows future buyers how you handle problems.

  8. Show stars where shoppers browse: Ratings on collection pages and product cards help people pick which page to open. Once reviews are live, send people to them, and our guide on how to drive traffic to a Shopify store covers where to start.

Start a few weeks before a big sale. Reviews take time to arrive, and our BFCM strategies guide assumes your product pages are ready before the traffic is.

Common mistakes with Shopify review apps

  • Running two review apps at once: Duplicate scripts and duplicate review markup slow pages and confuse search engines. Migrate one app at a time.

  • Deleting negative reviews: Shoppers get suspicious when every review is five stars. Respond to the bad ones instead.

  • Ignoring the plan cap: The free plans stop at 25, 50, 100, or 500 orders, depending on the app. Check your volume every few months.

  • Choosing on star rating alone: A 5.0 and a 4.7 on the App Store come from different groups of merchants, so compare features and cost instead.

  • Skipping the mobile check: Most traffic arrives on phones. Open your product page on one and look at where the reviews sit.

  • Setting it up the week of the sale: Review volume builds slowly, so give it time.

FAQs

What is the best product reviews app for Shopify?

It depends on your store. Judge.me has the lowest running cost, Loox is built for photo and video reviews, REVIEWS.io centers on Google Seller Ratings and company reviews, and Okendo, Yotpo, and Stamped suit larger brands. Rivyo is a good fit if you want a free start, review imports, and optional loyalty.

Is there a free Shopify product reviews app?

Yes. Judge.me, Rivyo, Loox, Okendo, Yotpo, and REVIEWS.io all have free plans, and each caps something different. Stamped has no free plan. The table in this guide shows what each free plan includes and where it stops.

Can I import reviews from another app or from Amazon?

Yes. Most apps accept a CSV file, and several list direct imports from other review apps and from marketplaces such as Amazon, AliExpress, and Etsy. Label imported reviews clearly, check the marketplace terms, and use them only for the same product you sell.

Do product reviews help Shopify SEO?

They add fresh, customer-written text to your product pages, and with correct markup, they can make star ratings eligible to appear in search results. Google decides what it shows, so there is no guarantee. Google’s guidelines also say not to include fake or undisclosed incentivized reviews.

How many reviews does a product need?

Aim for at least five per product. Research from the Medill Spiegel Research Center found the biggest jump in purchase likelihood with the first five reviews, and the benefit of each extra review drops after that. Higher-priced products often need more before shoppers feel sure.

Can I use two review apps at the same time?

It is possible, but we don’t recommend it. Two apps load duplicate scripts and can output duplicate review markup. If you are switching, import your reviews into the new app, confirm the counts, and then remove the old one.

Should I reply to negative reviews?

Yes. Keep the reply short and specific, say what you will fix, and offer to continue by email. Future buyers read the reply as much as the review. Most apps in this guide include a reply tool, and Judge.me adds AI-drafted replies on its paid plan.
